DOCTOR BIKE is the work of Peter, Karla and Todd Page. The Doctor is Peter Page and I have been part of the cycle industry for 20 years or more. Like all kids in the early 80’s I got into BMX and it all progressed from there, broken bones and all. During my time I have been part of either the retail or manufacturing of bikes. Yep we used to make bikes in NZ and it was fun.
I have done or tried just about everything you can do on a bike, multisport, road and track and DH, crash and burn etc. In 2003 I got sick, glandular fever, any cyclist that doesn’t get this at some point is very lucky, so I decided to go in a different direction and became a MTB commissaire and give something back to the sport I enjoy. During this period I became a UCI International Commissaire and attended many events in NZ. It was at these events that I was regularly asked by competitors where the mechanical help was. I soon realized that I was doing the wrong thing and had the idea to start a business where the sole purpose was to provide workshop servicing and maintenance and to support these individuals at events.
Now into our fifth year our business, DOCTOR BIKE is growing and a big thanks to all those who have supported us, we have enjoyed helping you out too. In the next year we intend to offer you more at more events or in the workshop in Christchurch.
